An excursion with your family, friends, association or company? We will be happy to guide you through the rooms of Villa Patumbah and give you an in-depth insight into the exhibitions. Afterwards your group can linger in the historic park and enjoy the scenic grounds. Appointment by arrangement.

Guided tour of villa and exhibition

Take a private tour of the magnificent interior of Villa Patumbah. You will gain in-depth insights into the colonial prehistory up to the demolition plans, rescue and restoration. Plus, you will get to know our permanent exhibition on building culture in Switzerland. The tour also includes a visit to the Asian gallery on the second floor of the villa, which is not open to the public. Upon request, a short introduction to the park can be booked as an additional option.

Theatre tours
Villa-Tour-Theater-Tour-Matthias-Arnold
The “eternal butler” Johann takes visitors on a voyage of discovery through the rooms of the villa and its eventful history, while the expedition leader Albert explores the Patumbah jungle on a foray through the park. Opening up a rich world of stories and adventure, both the villa tour and the jungle tour can be booked for groups.

Invite your friends on a jungle tour through Patumbah Park! An actor in the role of expedition leader Albert will take you through the park along secret paths and share the story of the brave mongoose Rikki Tikki Tavi. Afterwards you can have your own picnic or cake in the park.

Dates: Monday–Friday, 9am–4:30pm / Saturday, 2–4:30pm / Sunday, 12 noon–4:30pm, from May until the autumn holidays.

Duration theatre tour: 1 hour
Age: 6–10 years
Number of places: 10 to max. 25 people, at least one accompanying adult required.
Costs: CHF 350. Any admissions to the Swiss Heritage Center (exhibitions/villa) will be charged in addition.

Practical information: if the weather is uncertain, we provide a table under the covered veranda by prior arrangement, on Saturdays and Sundays from 30 minutes before the museum opens. Toilet facilities are available at Villa Patumbah. The children’s birthday party takes place entirely in the park, in any weather, and lasts no later than 5pm when the museum closes.
